Make an 8 inch candle mat
So simple with the method I've shown
on how to assemble a rug of stacks.
Make up a collection of stacks, 19 for this this little mat.
Back them with a matching base penny to hide all your stitches.
Then whip stitch the stacks all together.
A great way to use up your woolie scraps.
Check my Etsy shop for this kit
and my tutorials for the method.
Keep on stitching!
Colleen
Love your mat! Janice
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet candle mat..thank you for the directions. Donna
ReplyDeleteI received all the supplies to make the 8” Candle Mat but there weren’t any instructions. Was there supposed to be? Love the pennies!
ReplyDeleteHi Mert March, please check my tutorials as mentioned in this blog post. My tutorials will explain the simple construction of this mat. There aren't any directions included in the kit. The two tutorials you need are How to Stitch a Penny Stack with a Backing, and How to Assemble a Rug of Stacks. Your mat will be smaller, do lay it out prior to whip stitching the stacks together. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks so much for your purchase and your comment.
DeleteAs per the listing in my Esty Shop....This kit includes 38 x 1.5 inch pennies and 19 mixed 3/4" pennies (plus extras). This kit also comes with black thread and a chenille needle.
