I may have a few pieces of wool to try to make one of these penny rugs. A first for me. I did an online search of wool and you are so right! Very expensive! Now I know why the projects are so small.any ideas where to find affordable wool? I live in Florida so I’m thinking goodwill may not have many wool clothing. Also can these mats be washed?
Hi Betsy, yes Goodwill and garage sales and in online shops like Etsy. Be sure to clean any used items before storing them. I wrote a post about that. Yes, you can wash your finished mat(s). I suggest gently by hand. Thanks for commenting on my blog, check me out on Facebook at Penny Rugs and More and my Etsy shop!
